So what IS Social Media anyway?
Well that’s the very first question you need the answer to. If you look it up on Wikipedia, it’ll confuse you more than anything else! For those of us who are, ahem…over 35 or even 30 in some cases, few of the social networks make any sense. We simply didn’t grow up with them and it’s not natural for humans to communicate with our thumbs on a little rectangular box is it?
So our definition of Social Media is simple, web applications that allow us to connect with others openly and freely. But that still doesn’t really explain what it is or how to use it to make money in your business does it?
Here’s what you need to know RIGHT NOW.
• 72% of adult internet users in the U.S. are now active on at least one social network, up from 67% in 2012 and just 8% in 2005.
• There are, on average, 700 YouTube video links shared on Twitter every minute, and 500 years worth of YouTube videos watched on Facebook every day.
• 60% of LinkedIn users have clicked on an ad on the site, and 43% of U.S. marketers have obtained at least one new customer through LinkedIn.
So what do you DO with that information?
You decide, right now, whether you want to be one of those business owners that takes too long to make marketing decisions. You decide if you want to start using this undeniable form of marketing or if you want to slowly fade into the distance with the dinosaurs. Decide to connect right now, be smart and get ahead of your competitors.
